DEBORAH MAY™

Deborah May studied fine art and photography at St Martin’s School of Art, London and worked in the theatre, and in film and television - both live action and animation. For the past 15 years Deborah’s work was predominantly in music and dance. She directed two films for Leaving Home, Sir Simon Rattle’s series on 20thC music, which won a BAFTA in 1997. Recent projects included designing video sequences and projections for Bobby Baker’s How To Live at the Barbican in September 2006, directing the performance sequences for Deborah Bull’s The Dancer’s Body; and documentary portraits of Wayne MacGregor, Sir Anthony Dowell and Shobana Jeyasingh for the BBC. Non-broadcast work included education and documentary films for the Siobhan Davies Dance Company, The Cholmondeleys, Rambert Ballet, Dance Umbrella, The Merce Cunningham Dance Company, Rosemary Butcher and The Martha Graham Company.
